This is a project I had to do for english, along with a note to my teacher explaining it:
This mural is semi-representative of my culture; pretty much half of it. I am half Japanese and half Mexican. I have never really felt my hispanic cultural side, other than my grandma’s cooking. Not only does this mural partially describe my nationality, but also depicts my life.
Firstly, the overall tone of the mural is japanese. Even the sun in the middle says “Japanese” in it (or so says online translators... I don’t speakit... Yet). Red red red. Next, You may not have known that I am the biggest nerd/geek/all-of-the-above you will ever meet. Hands down. Period. Thats why you see the Nintendo and Apple logo in there. They are my two most favorite brand names, mostly because they are always leading in innovation. The next thing that probably catches your eye are those colored dots above the sun. Those represent my
other racial backgrounds. One is red/white/green representing my hispanic background (it is those colors,
right?) and the other is red/white/blue for obvious reasons.
Now. You probably see those words sticking out the bottom. The word emo got hidden, but that seems to be what people know me most as, even though I am perfectly satisfied with my life and have no emotional out breaks or anything like that. It’s probably just the occasion of my “emo” glasses, occasional faux-hawk, and other emo-y things. I could go on about stereotypes, but that would be rude. This is starting to feel like a... what are those called? Something with the imagination? NO. STREAM OF CONSCIENCE. Yeah. YeAhHh.
Anyway. There are a few other things in there that I can explain. the word yearbook is sticking out the top a few times. Mostly because it sucks up my life. But it’s fun. Also, there is a silhouette of my good friend Hezo sticking out the bottom. Ummm.... Everything else represents my love of web design. Speaking of which, I was the guy that did the Saugus Dance website. But it’s old, and not one of my best. Why did I bring up dance again? Oh yeah, because you are associated with it somehow, right? I dunno. Anyway. AnYwAy...
I’m done. Hope you like it! GIVEMEAGOODGRADETHANKS.
